Limehouse Library HoteL

Limehouse Library has been awakened from an eighteen-year slumber to once again take an active role in London’s cultural scene.

Construction of the library began in 1881, and it was operational from 1901, thanks to the support of the journalist and philanthropist John Passmore Edwards. The library closed in 2003 then the Hazev Group in 2014 obtained a long term tenure and remodeled the building completing in 2022. The reinvention opened the Limehouse Library as a the Limehouse Library Hotel with 75 each named after a notable figure from history and each with distinguishing decor.

Dr Jean Robey is a practicing physician and writer in the states who traveled to London decades ago in her youth. Returning with her daughter, she stayed at the Limehouse Library Hotel and immediately felt a devotion to write stories inspired by the traffic of travelers through a library inspired hotel. Visitors became themselves storylines and chapters adding to the library.
